When you partner with Drive Forward Foundation, you’ll receive:

  • A dedicated account manager to help shape opportunities that suit your organisation’s capacity and goals.
  • Training and induction for your team, including pre-placement sessions focused on understanding care-experience and how to provide inclusive, trauma-informed support.
  • Candidate preparation and ongoing support, we work closely with young people before and during placements to ensure they’re ready and supported, and we stay in touch with both you and the individual throughout.
  • Access to events such as breakfast briefings and our annual partner appreciation event, offering opportunities to network, hear directly from young people, and explore topics relevant to social mobility and inclusion.
  • A collaborative partner network across corporate and public sectors, where you can share best practice and contribute to a wider movement for workplace equality.

The approach looks to work with partners to provide consistent support over three tiers:  insight, support, and opportunity, with the goal of reducing the number of care-experienced young people being NEET (currently 39%) and leading them into sustainable and fulfilling employment.

Partnership charter

  • Provide input and opportunities across all three tiers of strategic partnership model, as well as putting in time and energy to creating a supportive environment for care-experienced young people.
  • Guarantee, or work with others to guarantee, opportunities for the young people at the end of the model.
  • Consider the partnership as an opportunity to develop practices that support care-experienced young people to thrive within their sector.
  • Work collaboratively to co-develop insight and support opportunities. 
  • Provide a financial contribution towards the operation of the model.
  • A committed team of staff that have built trusted relationships with care-experienced young people.
  • Approximately 900 care-experienced young people worked with each year across Greater London.
  • Significant experience of what works in making employment sustainable for care-experienced young people.
  • All administration and communication with young people conducted by us.
  • Training provided for staff wishing to act as mentors, and training provided to line managers of any experienced young people that are recruited.
  • Opportunities to attend events that we host throughout the year.
